Tower Construction & Erection

Broadband Tower Services builds new towers and extends existing ones across Ontario - self-support lattice and guyed structures, from foundation to a finished, plumbed, ready-to-load tower. Family-run since 1996, we put senior, certified crews on every build, with P.Eng engineering behind the structure.

What a build includes

• Foundations and pad - site prep and concrete foundations to the engineered design, including guy-anchor foundations on guyed towers.
• Erection - section-by-section assembly and hoisting, with splice bolts made up using self-locking nuts so wind and vibration can't back them off.
• Plumb and tension - the tower is brought into plumb, and guyed towers are tensioned to the engineered guy loads with a calibrated tension meter.
• Safety climb and rest platforms - safety-climb cable and platforms installed and terminated correctly.
• Antennas, lines and grounding - mounts, antennas, feedlines and a full grounding system, so the tower is ready to carry load.

Self-support or guyed

Self-support (lattice) towers need only their own footprint and suit sites where land is tight. Guyed towers reach greater heights economically but need room for the guy anchors. We build and service both, and we'll help you weigh height, wind loading, land and budget before anything is ordered.

Extensions and modifications

Adding height to an existing tower, or strengthening one to carry new loads, is some of the most common work we do. It starts with a structural assessment so the existing structure and foundation are verified for the new loading before a single section goes up. Guy-wire plumb and tensioning

On a guyed tower the guy wires do the structural work, and they only do it correctly when the tower is plumb and every guy is at its engineered tension. Over years, anchors creep, wires stretch and tensions drift - which loads the structure unevenly and accelerates wear. We bring guyed towers back into spec: measuring plumb and twist, then adjusting each guy to the design tension with a calibrated tension meter, level by level, so the load is shared the way the engineering intended. It's precise work and a frequent finding on inspections of older guyed structures.

Permits, engineering and project management

We coordinate the pieces that keep a build on schedule - engineered drawings, permits, fibre/utility locates and site coordination - so the project moves without surprises. You get an as-built record at the end.

Decommission and site restoration

When a structure reaches end of life, it has to come down as carefully as it went up. We handle planned decommissioning - de-rigging antennas and feedlines, dismantling the tower section by section under control, and removing foundations and anchors - then restore the site to the condition the owner or landlord needs. Removed equipment is documented and dispositioned cleanly, and the work is photographed for your records.
